Utah artist David Mann lived among the Southwestern tribes (the San Carlos Apache , Navaho and Pueblo) for two years during which he absorbed layers of meaning that give depth to the stories he tells with his art. This painting was part of the Prix de West Invitational in 2004. His contemporary style and use of vivid, beautiful color compliment the narrative in each piece and add drama.
